There has been little mention of these developments elsewhere in the mainstream media, but the build-up is continuing. Now it seems that the Eisenhower carrier group has set sail for Iran.<br /></p><blockquote style="font-family:arial;"><p align="justify"><i><span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 255);">The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Eisenhower and its accompanying strike force of cruiser, destroyer and attack submarine slipped their moorings and headed off for the Persian Gulf region on Oct. 2, as I had predicted in a piece in The Nation magazine a few weeks back.<br /><br />The Eisenhower strike force, according to my sources, is scheduled to arrive in the vicinity of Iran around October 21, at the same time as a second flotilla of minesweepers and other ships.<br /><br />This build-up of naval power around the coast of Iran, according to some military sources, is in preparation for an air attack on Iran that would target not just Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities, but its entire military command and control system. </span></i><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><a href="http://www.thiscantbehappening.net/2006.10.01_arch.html#1160416100052"><b>Source</b></a></span><br /></p></blockquote><p style="font-family: arial;" align="justify">Could these really be the preparations for the wider Middle East war that so many people have been speculating about? If they are then the mainstream media should hang their collective heads in shame for not reporting this. George Bush's foreign policy has been exposed as disastrous, not just in Iraq where this is obvious but now with regards to North Korea too where as just about everyone must know by now a <a href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2396310,00.html">nuclear test has been conducted</a> despite Bush's threats and warnings. Even with all the international condemnation, it is possible that North Korea may be preparing a <a href="http://theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20553706-1702,00.html">second nuclear test</a>. In a month from now America will have its Mid-Term elections where it is expected that the Republicans may lose control of the House of Representatives, and maybe even the Senate. If that happens Bush will be even more of a lame duck than he already is, unable to do very much at all.
