I don’t usually write much about blogging, but two interesting stories about blogging are in today’s Guardian. First the story about a former Bush administration aid who has had to resign from his job as a blogger for the Washington Post because much of his previous work turned out to be plagiarism.
More interesting is the story of Riverbend who writes the excellent ‘Baghdad Burning’ blog, a must read for anyone who wants a well-written, personal look at what life can be like in post ‘liberation’ Iraq. Riverbend is in the running for the £30,000 Samuel Johnson award for her blog which has been published as a biography/memoir. This is thought to be the first time a blogger has been in the running for a major literary prize for a book. I really like her blog and I hope it wins.
